Services That May Be Available Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE)
Helps families prepare young children for learning by assessing
and providing intervention in the areas of cognitive (play,
thinking and problem solving), social-emotional, language and
motor development.
Occupational/Physical Therapy (OT/PT)
Helps young children improve motor (muscle) function.
Assesses movement and function, and develops a plan of exercise
or activity to improve strength, coordination, function and
movement.
Public Health Nursing (PHN)
Provides health services in the home, including teaching about
health/ medical conditions, assessment of general health, and
monitoring of growth and development. Helps family coordinate
health care, communicate with other health providers, and connect
with community resources.
Community Resources
Referrals to resources available through federal, state or local
governments and community organizations for child and family
needs, such as: equipment, transportation, medical services,
family support and education, and financial assistance.
Respite Care
Temporary care in your home or in other settings designed to
give parents a break.
Services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH)
Provides an assessment to determine appropriate communication
and educational methods and instruction in all areas of development.
Social Services
Helps arrange, refer or provide direct services for families
and helps coordinate services across agencies. Assists
families with referrals to community resources and financial
assistance programs.
Speech/Language Therapy
Evaluates communication development and provides appropriate
speech and language therapy.
Vision Consultation
Assesses and provides instruction in functional use of vision
